Dust eyeshadow on your roots for thicker hair

Who doesn’t want thicker hair? Well, we discovered that dusting a small amount of eyeshadow along your parting can instantly fake it. Whether your hair is tied up or hanging loose, this one’s a winner for making hair appear fuller from the roots.

Hold lipstick in place

Lipstick not standing the test of time? Keep it in place by holding a tissue over your lips and brushing with a dusting of translucent setting powder. If you add enough, it’ll even turn your favourite lippy into a stunning matte version. Nifty!

Fake bigger lips

Contouring the lips is a super quick and easy way to make lips appear instantly fuller. Simply line lips with a dark shade, add your desired colour over the top and finish with a dab of highlighter in the centre, as shown below. For even more va va voom, add some brown powder underneath the bottom lip in the centre to give the appearance of shadow.

Reduce eye puffiness

Struggling to find that Holy Grail eye cream? No worries! Simply take a couple of cold tea bags, pop them over your eyes and relax for 10-15 minutes. No, we’re not crazy… Tea includes anti-irritant properties to help reduce swelling and inflammation. Easy!

Beachy waves

Beachy waves are the most desirable hairstyle of all. Easy to wear, natural and difficult to mess up, they’re the ultimate everyday look. Who has time to tong their hair before work though? Well, what if we told you you could easily achieve beachy loveliness with a little spritz of salt spray and a couple of Princess Leia buns? Once in place, blast with a hairdryer for a few minutes and leave in while you do your makeup. Time to leave? Shake out and you’re good to go!

Fake a longer ponytail

Struggle to make your short, limp hair look good in an updo? Separate a ponytail into two sections – from the ears above and below – and use the top section to conceal the bottom one. Your top pony will conceal the bottom one and create the illusion of a longer, thicker pony. Nice!

Quick-fix blusher

Oh no! You’ve finished work looking like Casper, but haven’t got any blusher to hand. No problem. Take your favourite pink lippy and dab along the cheekbones for an instant cream blush flush.

Fix fake-tan mistakes

Dodgy fake tan alert! Fix those orange stains with a combination of baking powder and lemon juice. Easy peasy, lemon squeezy!

Avoid bubbly manicures

Shaking your bottle of nail colour before use? Sure, that’s what the bottle says, but what you should be doing is rolling it between your hands. Shaking it created bubbles that in turn leave you with an uneven manicure. You’re welcome.

Neaten a dodgy manicure

One of our favourites from this list of 10 calls for a simple slick of Vaseline around the edge of the nail bed before painting. Once dry, it’s super easy to wipe away and any scruffy edges will instantly be neatened. Nailed it!
