There’s no doubt that South Korean beauty has become super popular in the UK and USA as of late, with Tony Moly being one of the most popular South Korean brands of choice. Although they have a LOT of cutesy products their most hyped product is definitely the Egg Blackhead Steam Balm. Promising to smooth skin, clear out clogged pores and prevent blackheads — it sounds like a product every woman needs in their bathroom cabinet. So, does it deliver and should you click ‘add to basket’? LMB investigates!

Egg Pore Blackhead Steam Balm

Following directions we started with a cleansed but dry face. We decided to go big or go home (although we were already home) and focus only on the infamous problem area where blackheads live – THE NOSE!

It does state that it’s self-heating but if you’re expecting it to be steamy-hot, it’s not. The consistency is very sticky and it turns from a grey glue to a white scrub as you work it into your face.

We’ve heard that you can have better results if you steam your face first by placing a hot flannel on your face. Our skin felt smooth and looked very glowy from the flannel steaming, but the blackheads were definitely still there – although now they were very soft.

A little of this goes a LONG way, and it does smell lovely, however after a week of using it, our blackheads hadn’t really disappeared magically as we’d hoped.

If you’re looking for something fun to try or an extra step to add to your beauty routine, this product is nice to use. However we won’t be ditching our pore-strips for the egg — just yet!
