Summer is all about accessorising! The summer It-bag, sunglasses and shoes are hot topics in fashion mags during the warmer months. But with the reinvention of nail art from the pre-teen pastime to the ultimate “cool girl” must-have, we thought we’d amp up our accessorising with one of these fresh mani’s this July…

Negative Space

Get a fresh finish with a quirky twist by painting pretty patterns over flawless, healthy nails. No base colour is what sets this one apart from a traditional nail art design and we love it! Start with simple spots or create clean stripes with tape, before venturing onto something more adventurous. The brighter and more daring the shade the better with this one – try Nails Inc. Seven Dials Gel Effect Polish for a long-lasting pop of yellow with a high-shine finish.

French Fancy

A super simple summer nail trend to try this season is essentially a French manicure, with a fun twist. No matter what your nail art credentials, this one can definitely be done. Simply sweep your chosen colour over the very tip of your nail and enjoy a negative space stunner with a nod to the classics.

Embellished Cuticles

Now reverse what we just told you and embrace a little cuticle action. Possibly this summer’s cutest nail trend, we’ve seen embellished cuticles in all kinds of pretty finishes. Paint your nails, as normal, and dust with a little glitter at the bed. Line the cuticle right the way round with an equally on-trend metallic shade, or go bold with a bright pop of colour. We think Nails Inc.’s Crombie Mews NailKale number could just be the right shade for this one!

Pretty in Pink

Not skilled when it comes to nail art? No bother. You can keep it nice and simple this summer by making pink your glam go-to. Hot in the fashion and beauty spheres this season, a subtle nude-pink nail is elegant and classy. Bayswater Avenue is the ultimate shade for a clean, fresh finish – trust us.

Graphic Colour Blocking

Our final fab nail trend for summer is graphic colour blocking. This trend requires the most skill, but if you’re up to the job it’s a case of layering shades to create complementary or contrasting colour blocks. Take inspo from this beaut blue number and use Nails Inc.’s bluey-green Claremont Street to ace colour blocking and spring/summer’s blue trend. Gorge!
